Carol : How long will Sheridan liqueur last if kept in the refrigerator?

Sheridans should be fine for a long time in the refrigerator. its the cream liqueur that usually worries or tends to coagulate or dry up at the valve. that may sometimes cause fungus or mould if the
refrigeration isn't gd.
so if u find that the cream end is drying up, u know its time to be knocking it back! if the cream is over and u still have coffee left, simply float double cream or any other cream liqueur on top.

Sunil Baijal : I had opened a bottle of Chivas Regal one year back but did not drink it. It was lying unrefrigerated. How long does an open bottle of whisky survive or for that matter rum or vodka ??

if the bottle of chivas has been kept closed, then it will be quite ok. all spirits can last almost endlessly. some may lose some flavour if kept too long after the halway mark. by and large, there's no tension!

most spirits and liqueurs (except those using cream) can be stored endlessly. some tend to lose a little flavour if left for too long after they are past the halfway mark.

a year??!! now that's asking for trouble. unlike still wines, sherry has the ability to last longer as it is fortified (added with spirit). If the room temp where u live is not desperately hot, it might still have survived.
go by the taste. hopefully u still remember what it tasted like. if it still tastes cool, just finish it asap. try not to keep open bottles for more than 6 months. if it tastes strange or acidic, use it to marinade seafood or
chicken/pork or turn it into a salad dressing.

its a very personal choice. what you like is what is best for you. and
so some people will drink whisky only with soda or water. some prefer
it as a combination of soda & water. some like it with coke, others
lemonade
or even gingerale. some even drink it straight or on ice.
similarly with brandy too. some will only drink it neat, others with
hot water, still others with hot water and honey, or soda....
finally, drink it whichever way it makes you feel good!
