Chetan : Which is the best wine recommended to reduce LDL cholestrol? Also when they discuss a red wine in general - is there any classification/categorization to it?
Tulleeho :Dear Chetan,
Wine is not known to heal, merely help avert danger in the long run, and that too is not proven scientifically but more through statistics. So don't drink wine to reduce cholesterol... drinking wine regularly for a decade or two may result in a person having low levels of LDL but he has to rely on exercise and a healthy diet as much as the next person.
As for red wines.... they may be still or sparkling, dry or sweet...
Still Dry red: Bordeaux/Burgundy red wines.
Still Sweet red: Ports.
Sparkling Dry reds: various generic sparkling wines from all over the world.
Sparkling Sweet Reds: Lambrusco fro Italy.

Vivek : Please tell me the composition of Red Wine and Port Wine . I want to stick to Red Wine but someone told me that port wine has more alcohol content so it is better. I want to know if the sugar content in both are same. Is Port wine Ok for diabetics???
Tulleeho : All wines have over a million constituents of which very few and their uses are known to us. Port wines are fortified, that is fermentation is stopped by addition of alcohol. Consequently they are high-alcohol, high-sugar content wines.
Red wines are allowed to ferment naturally till nearly all the sugar converts to alcohol. They are thus more dry (sugar less than 5 g/l) and low on alcohol.
Both the wines get their therapeutic values from oak aging and the tannins present in them. so both can be said to be good for health. However given the high degree of alcohol and sugar in port, they are surely not the better bet. High levels of alcohol are good for only one thing - getting pissed! And as for the sugar, diabetics watch out, ports at 50+g/l of sugar arent exactly going to help you much!

Shankar : is there a specific type of yeast to make wine and where do i buy it in bombay?
Tulleeho :Dear Shankar,
I did some research on it and ...
the type and quantity of yeast required to make wine is always fixed....as in x grammes for 1 litre of grape juice...
Crawford market would a possible place to source the same, even if the vendors don't have it in stock, they could procure it from somewhere...
Baker's yeast will deliver a fermented bvg but the off smells afterwards will be problematic...
thats all i have come up with...the best is to ask a friend travellin from abroad topick up a wine making kit.....they r cheap n pretty efficient...
sorry for the delayed reply but i was waitin for some people to revert on the same!

Justin : Vodka prices and cocktails?
Tulleeho :Dear demotional man,
In re vodka prices they vary from state to state as each state has its own excise policies. I am not sure what the prevailing rates are in Uttar Pradesh. In Delhi however you can get a bottle of premium vodka - Smirnoff or Vladivar for around Rs. 350/-. Other brands are available in the lower price segment such as Karmazov & Red Riband. These would be around Rs. 200-250.
For vodka cocktails you can log on to www.tulleeho.com/smirnoff/index.asp and get your fill.

Rebecca : Hi Shatbhi, Thank you for your site! What is the life span (open/unopened) for Marsala or Cream Sherry?
Tulleeho :Hi Rebecca,
Glad u liked the site!
An unopened bottle if kept in a cool dark place can keep almost indefinitely. once opened however, keep it cool/refrigerated and try and finish it in at least 3 months. it might even stay longer but will get a
touch oxidised and will lose its wonderful flavour.
