Rohit: What is root beer ?

Tulleeho : Root beer is a dark beverage that comes in two forms, alcoholic and as a soft drink. The alcoholic version is made from a combination of vanilla, cherry tree bark, licorice root, sarsaparilla root, artificial sassafras root bark flavoring (the pure form is mildly carcinogenic), nutmeg, anise, and molasses among other ingredients. The soft drink version of root beer is non-alcoholic and is generally made using root beer extract or other flavored syrups along with carbonated water.

Arun : I attended a tastemaker session which was interesting and great and I look forward to more of it. I have a question now : I would be very happy if you could point me to good mocktail recipes. I have seen quite a few on the net but getting the ingredients are difficult, so our host of the event suggested that I ask this question here, so kindly please help me to get a few mocktail recipes. Thanks.

Tulleeho : Hi Arun, glad you liked the Smirnoff Tastemaker Session. Here are some mocktails you could try making :

In a glass take 30 ml of grenadine and top up with Ginger Ale\sprite in a tall glass to make a refreshing Shirley Temple.

Take 60 ml each of Orange Pineapple and Grapefruit juice in a glass, top up with sprite and dribble grenadine on top. Garnish with a slice of orange and you have a Yellowbird.

30ml Grenadine in a tall glass topped up with orange juice, garnished with a slice of orange gives you a Virgin Sunrise.

180ml Pineapple juice blended with 60 ml vanilla ice cream and 30ml coconut cream in a old fashioned glass and a pineapple garnish for a Virgin Pin Ya Colada.
